Over the Summer I was delighted to learn I was going to be taking part in the newly organised Artist’s Alley, run by the gaming society at Queen’s University in Belfast, known to many people simply as Q-Con.
Now in its sixteenth year, Q-Con has slowly been developing into Northern Ireland’s biggest and most popular anime and gaming convention and with this came the introduction of the Artist’s Alley, a chance for amateur artists and illustrators alike to come together and sell their artworks to the public.
Personally I was a little nervous with the prospect of selling artwork, especially my own as I’m not really in the mindset of thinking my artwork is worth much
so I decided to try and sell a few small A5 sized prints, to at least see how well they sell and maybe gather some feedback from other artists on how I might be able to make improvements to my art style.

These were the prints that I sold at the convention

Overall, I felt that my prints had sold quite well for a first try (I had made back the money I had spent to make the prints plus a little extra) and I feel I’ve gotten a little insight into how other artists approach their work, not mention meeting a few new friends in the process.
